Ryan Peters

A native Pennsylvanian, Ryan Peters grew up in a small, suburban town on the outskirts of York. Music always played a large role as Peters spent countless hours listening to his parents’ records including Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, and Fleetwood Mac. During his high school years, the influences of Live, Radiohead, Sting and the Police, and U2 began to take root.
Peters left York to attend East Stroudsburg University, where he developed a penchant for songwriting. This self-taught musician’s skills began to blossom and his trademark of catchy riffs and strong melodies was birthed.
Following graduation, Peters moved to the Hawaiian Island of Oahu. This tropical paradise inspired Peters to further explore his musical calling while his performances at Hard Rock Café and Sunset on the Beach (alumni include Elliot Smith and Jack Johnson) began to draw large followings.
Feeling called to push his musical boundaries, Peters moved to Nashville, TN where he recorded his first solo EP, Uprooted (2010) with producer Mark Nash (Tonic, Burlap to Cashmere). Uprooted earned commercial success with “Overcome This Love” featuring Leigh Nash (Sixpence None the Richer) on MTV’s “True Life.” Additionally, “The Game” was chosen for placement on the Oxygen Network.
Peters latest album, Live Love Grow, recorded with Nashville based producer Dustin Burnett (Newsboys, Augustana), was released on May 7, 2013. In early, 2014 the title track was used as the end title song in an episode of Uplifting Network’s “Heartland”. “Stay With Me” and “We Live We Love We Grow” continue to receive critical acclaim and enthusiastic interest among the music, television, and film production communities.
Currently, music listeners can find Ryan Peters continuing to share his passion for writing songs in a God-honoring, truth-seeking way…most likely in an intimate setting.
